Queen of Rainbows

My sister Laura Allport got in touch with me last week to see whether we could get together and take some photographs. The photo shoot was for a shawl project she had knitted herself called 'Queen of Rainbows', created for a friend and fellow knitter on Ravelry.

We decided to take the photographs in Leasowes Park, a historic landscape designed by poet William Shenstone in the 18th Century. The park is known for it's diverse landscape of wooded valleys, open grasslands, lakes and streams.

Once taken, the photographs were edited using Abobe Bridge and Adobe Photoshop. I decided to desaturate the natural background to enhance the vibrant colours of the shawl.

The Queen of Rainbows shawl was started on September 7th 2017 and completed October 27th 2017, it features a pattern called 'Jokulsarlon' by The Queen of Purls.
